Cass County and Van Buren County in Michigan are now classified as hitting the substantial COVID-19 transmission threshold.

With that, the Van Buren-Cass District Health Department says that people, no matter their vaccine status, need to wear masks inside public places, as per the C.D.C.’s guidelines.

Cass County currently has one of the lowest vaccine rates in the state of Michigan, with just 37 percent of eligible residents receiving shots.
