South Bend veteran and biker dies after getting final wish Monday night

A local biker literally got his last wish Monday night.

Over 100 bikers from across Michiana gathered to give Jon Stanley his final wish: to hear the revving of Harley-Davidsons before he died. And ABC 57 reports those bikes sure roared as they rode by his home Monday night. Stanley even was able to ride in a side car for a short time.

He was diagnosed with lung and brain cancer in February, and his health took a turn for the worse this week. A Facebook group, upon hearing the news of his failing health, organized the final sendoff.

Sadly, just hours after the special tribute, Stanley breathed his last and died.
