One person killed in crash on toll road in Steuben County

(95.3 MNC)

Indiana State Police are investigating after one person was killed in a crash on westbound Indiana Toll Road in Steuben County.

Officers say two semis and a pickup truck collided near mile-marker 146.around 5:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11.

They say traffic was stalled because of a car fire, but one of the semi drivers did not slow down or stop in time. So, the driver swerved to avoid a crash, which led to it “side swiping” the pickup truck and rear-ending the other semi.

The pick-up driver didn’t survive. The passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No one else was hurt.
