Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is requesting an execution date be set for Benjamin Ritchie.
Ritchie convicted in 2002 for killing a Beech Grove police officer in 2000.
Rokita says “this convicted cop killer has been on death row far too long, 22 years, and it’s past time for him to pay his debt to society.” Ritchie has exhausted all of his appeals.
He killed Officer William Toney on September 29, 2000.
