UPDATE: Man killed after motorcycle vs pickup truck crash in Elkhart identified

UPDATE: The name of the man killed after a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle in Elkhart has been released.

The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, Sep. 29, in the 1600 block of Cassopolis Street in Elkhart when a motorcycle heading north hit a Ford F-150 turning left in front of it.

23-year-old Peyton Storm of Elkhart was taken to Elkhart General Hospital but died.

The driver of the pickup truck has been cooperating with investigators.

Elkhart Police would also like to thank bystanders who they say swiftly and compassionately rendered aid and CPR at the scene to Storm before officers and medics arrived at the crash.

ORIGINAL STORY:  The Elkhart Police Department Fatal Crash team continues to actively investigate a deadly crash between a motorcycle and vehicle.

The collision happened around 7:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of Cassopolis Street in Elkhart.

The investigation from Elkhart Police indicates a motorcycle traveling northbound on Cassopolis Street struck a Ford F150 that was turning left in front of him. The motorcycle driver, a man in his early 20’s, was taken to the hospital for treatment but died shortly afterward.

The driver of the Ford F150 remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The Elkhart Police Department Fatal Crash Reconstruction Team was activated, per protocol, and is handling the investigation.
