Two hospitalized after house fire on Roosevelt Avenue in Elkhart

Two people were hospitalized after a house fire in the 2700 block of Roosevelt Avenue in Elkhart.

Crews were called during the overnight hours on Saturday, Sep. 21,  to find flames coming from the north side of the home.

The two who were taken to the hospital suffered smoke inhalation. Three dogs were also found inside and safely relocated to a neighbor’s home.

Fire officials believe the fire originated in the living room. The investigation into the cause continues.
