Two juveniles were detained on Friday following a violent altercation at Navarre Middle School, during which staff members were assaulted and a threatening remark was made.

The incident unfolded as the students were being disciplined for an earlier, unrelated issue. During the course of this intervention, they attacked the staff members. Subsequently, one of the students issued a violent threat directed at the school and its employees.

A School Resource Officer, along with additional officers from the South Bend Police Department, responded promptly to the scene. The two students were taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Justice Center.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to gather more information regarding the incident.
