The Bristol town council has voted to rezone farmland south of State Road 120 for a possible data center that would take up around 240 acres.
During the meeting on Thursday, Sep. 19, four council members approved the plans. One council person abstained from voting.
Their approval comes despite residents who showed up for the meeting opposed to the project due to concerns about noise, infrastructure and water.
There was no word about a specific tenant who would develop the land.
