Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 36 and East County Line Road near Millersburg.

The collision happened on Monday morning, Sept. 16, when Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators say an Isuzu box truck, driven by a 23-year-old Goshen man was traveling westbound on County Road 500 S when and allegedly disregarded a stop sign and collided with a southbound Dodge Journey driven by a 30-year-old Ligonier man.

The Goshen man’s truck struck the front driver’s side of the Dodge Journey before crashing into a power pole, a fence, and a shed at a nearby property. The impact caused the truck to roll onto its side, ejecting the Goshen man, who was pinned beneath the vehicle. Emergency responders transported him to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment. The Ligonier man complained of abdominal pain and was taken to Parkview Fort Wayne Regional Hospital.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage, and additional property damage occurred, including the destruction of a shed and damage to two fences and the power pole. The Goshen man was cited for disregarding a stop sign, while the Ligonier man was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a license.
