Peru man facing several charges after Fulton County police chase

A man from Peru faces several charges after a police chase in Fulton County.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, Sep. 11, when an Indiana State Trooper tried to stop Jeffrey Azbell’s car on Old US-31. Though Azbell initially stopped, he sped off, throwing methamphetamine from his vehicle during the chase. More drugs were found inside the car.
Suspected of being under the influence, Azbell was taken to a hospital for a sobriety test, then booked into Fulton County Jail.
Azbell, 58, is charged with drug possession, resisting law enforcement, obstruction of justice, driving under the influence, and reckless driving.
