A South Bend man has been charged with attempted murder after a home invasion early in August.

Emergency services were dispatched after a 911 caller advised that they had heard someone say “give me all your money or I’ll shoot you in the head,” followed by a gunshot.

Nearby officers found a man, Julius Hunt, fleeing on foot with a firearm, and a neighbor called police to inform them that someone in one of the apartments was bleeding significantly.

The Goshen News says a man was found with a gunshot wound to the head though he was still conscious.

The victim told police he had been sleeping when somebody kicked in his door and began demanding money before firing the gun.

During his initial hearing last week, Hunt was charged with attempted murder, burglary, robbery with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon, theft of a firearm and resisting law enforcement. His jury trial is scheduled for Februart 3.
