Indiana Fever on a roll: 5th straight victory

The Indiana Fever won their fifth game in a row Wednesday night by knocking off the Los Angeles Sparks 93-86.

The Fever’s Caitlin Clark obtained her second triple-double of the season by scoring 24 points, dishing out 10 assists, and snagging 10 rebounds.

Odyssey Sims knocked down a three-point shot to get within three of the Fever at 87-84, but then the Sparks were held scoreless for the next 1:35. Clark sealed the win with two free throws and then secured the final rebound of the game off a miss by Kia Nurse. The crowd surged to its feet to applaud Clark since they knew she secured the triple-double.

Aliyah Boston had a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Fever. Kelsey Mitchell (18 points) and Nalyssa Smith (13 points) rounded out Indiana’s double figure scoring.

Sims led the Sparks with 20 points and six assists. The Sparks fell to 7-26 with the loss while the Fever improved to 18-16.

The Fever secured a playoff berth for the first time in eight years Tuesday night. They are 7-1 since they returned from the Olympic break.

Indiana’s next game is Friday night against the 24-9 Minnesota Lynx. The game tips off at 7:30 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
