Child struck by vehicle at Cedar Glen Apartments suffered critical injuries

UPDATE: The child who was struck by a vehicle at Cedar Glen Apartments, last Thursday night, suffered critical head injuries. Investigators say the girl’s foot was caught under her mother’s vehicle’s back tire while the car was in motion and that the child was pulled to the ground. The child was taken to the hospital and was last listed in serious, but stable condition. Her condition has stabilized.

ORIGINAL STORY: St. Joseph County FACT Team has been activated to investigate a crash that injured a child on the city’s east side.

It happened around 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, at Cedar Glen Apartments in the 400 block of S. 25th Street on the report of a child struck by a vehicle.

The child was taken to the hospital for treatment. There was no immediate word about the severity of the child’s injuries.

A short time after the original crash, the FACT team was called to investigate a second crash just down the road from the collision at Cedar Glen.
