A man has been sentenced to 10 years for burglary by plea bargain.

It happened in December last year when police noticed a door to an apartment on Marion Street had been pried open and heard the sounds of someone inside.

Two men were seen running along the front of the house, taking police on a foot pursuit until they were taken into custody on Sixth Street.

Police found a crowbar at the apartment as well as rooms that appeared to have been rummaged through, and the tenants claimed to have been missing $4,000 in cash and a gun.

The Goshen News says Tyrezz Washington was sentenced to 10 years with six of the years suspended on reporting probation, four years at the Indiana Department of Corrections and one year spent on alternative placement at Elkhart County Community Corrections.
