Margarita named Indiana’s most loved cocktail

New research names Indiana’s favorite cocktails – and the Margarita has been crowned the most-loved in the state.
The study, conducted by QR Code Generator, analyzed state-specific Google searches related to cocktail names to identify which are the most popular.
According to the findings, the Margarita is the top cocktail in Indiana, with 4,158 average monthly searches. It is typically made with 2 ounces of tequila, 1/2 an ounce of orange liqueur, and 1 ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice. The rim of the glass is often coated in salt, and some recipes suggest adding agave or syrup to help sweeten the drink.
The Margarita was crowned the cocktail of choice in an impressive 16 states.

Indiana’s second most popular cocktail is the Moscow Mule, with an average of 3,758 monthly searches. The cocktail consists of 2 ounces of vodka and 1/2 an ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice, topped up with 3 ounces of ginger beer.
The Amaretto Sour is the third most loved cocktail at 3,517 average monthly searches. Made up of 1 1/2 ounces of amaretto liqueur, an ounce of lemon juice, 3/4 ounces of bourbon, 1/2 ounce of egg white and a teaspoon of simple syrup, the drink is typically garnished with a lemon twist and 2 brandied cherries.
Long Island Iced Tea is the fourth most popular cocktail, with 3,375 average monthly searches. It consists of equal parts vodka, white rum, silver tequila, gin, triple sec, simple syrup and lemon juice, the drink is topped with cola and garnished with a lemon wedge.
Rounding out the top five is the Aperol Spritz, with 3,308 average monthly searches. The drink, which combines 3 ounces prosecco, 2 ounces Aperol, and 1 ounce club soda, has a sweet and citrusy flavor followed by a slightly bitter aftertaste.
