Police in Indianapolis are learning more about a dog attack that happened Friday night on the west side.
A woman was killed by two dogs in that incident on Olin Avenue, which is a residential area near Holt Road and West Michigan Street. In an update on Monday, they said the woman was dog sitting both dogs and was killed when at least one of them attacked her. The dogs were confined to the yard.
Indianapolis Animal Care Services took the dogs and they have since been euthanized.
The woman who died has been identified as 60-year-old Kimberly A. Williams. Her manner and cause of death are pending.
“This is a tragic incident,” said IMPD Sgt. Anthony Patterson. “IMPD views any loss of life as a tragedy, but in circumstances like this where you have animals attack…we may never know why the dogs attacked her.”
