Boy, 14, killed in crash early Saturday morning on State Road 120

A 14-year-old boy was killed in a crash after he hit another vehicle while operating a dirt bike.

The collision happened around 4:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 27.

The teen was traveling southbound on County Road 35 north of State Road 120.

The other vehicle was traveling westbound on SR 120 east of CR 35 when the teen failed to stop at the stop sign and hit the back of the trailer the other vehicle was pulling, according to eyewitnesses, as reported by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

The teenage boy would have been an incoming freshman at Northridge High School. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Bristol Paramedics.

Investigators have not released any information about the other driver or vehicle involved.

The crash is still under investigation.
