House fire on Angela Boulevard in South Bend being investigated

The cause of a house fire on Angela Boulevard in South Bend remains under investigation.

Crews were called just before 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 22, to the 400 block of Angela to find smoke pouring from the ground floor of the home. Inside, they found found heavy black smoke with fire located in the basement.

The fire was extinguished quickly by fire crews at the scene.

There were no reports of injuries to firefighters or to residents at the scene.
