A 64-year-old Niles man was sentenced to jail time on Monday.

Gladger Ross pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon and was sentenced to 20 days in jail with credit for one day served after being arrested for carrying a loaded stolen gun.

The incident happened in October of last year.

The defense attorney stated that Ross has not been in trouble for many years, stating that he has learned to become a law abiding citizen since his previous convictions.

However, Leader Publications says that the judge was concerned that he had a gun that was stolen out of South Bend and that the gun was loaded with a round in the chamber.
