Tip to Cass County Sheriff’s Office leads to arrest of known felon

A tip to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a known felon in possession of several firearms and possibly selling narcotics.
The tip stated that the firearms were being held in a travel trailer in Howard Township.
With help from Pokagon Tribal Police, a traffic stop was made on the vehicle and travel trailer in the 2500 block of Lake Shore Drive in Niles on Monday, July 15.
Detectives spotted several firearms through a window. Once armed with a search warrant they found nearly two dozen guns, two of which were stolen, and a large quantity of ammo.
The 40-year-old suspect was arrested on a preliminary count of being a felon in possession of firearms.
