The man at the center of Sunday’s 18-hour-long standoff has been formally charged with murder.

Police were called to his home on Saturday after his children’s mother told police she had received a video call from Snyder in which he allegedly stated he had intentions of harming his children.

After the 18-hour-long standoff, police found Snyder’s two-year-old son dead inside the home as well as his four-year-old daughter hiding inside the home.

Autopsy results won’t be confirmed for several weeks, so the cause of death has not yet been determined.

Snyder’s first court appearance is set for July 18.
