SBPD brings back patch coloring contest for kids

Photo Supplied - SBPD

Back by popular demand… your child has another chance to design an official South Bend Police Department patch!

Kids 18 and younger are invited to get creative with crayons, colored pencils or markers to color their own version of the SBPD shoulder patch.

You can download and print your free coloring page by clicking the link at the bottom of this post. You can also pick up a free coloring page in the South Bend Police Department’s front lobby at 701 W. Sample Street.

Artwork must be submitted by Thursday, July 25 at 11:59 p.m.

Completed coloring pages can be placed in the submission box in SBPD’s front lobby OR scanned and emailed to our PIO, Ashley O’Chap, at aochap@southbendin.gov.

Please make sure your child’s name and age are written on the back of the sheet, along with a parent/guardian’s phone number. If emailing your submission, you can just include this information in the body of the message.

So… how do we pick a winner? Here’s where we’ll need your help!

On Monday, July 29, all submissions will be uploaded to our Facebook page. We invite our Facebook followers to “like” their favorite patch design. One like = one vote! Voting will end on Friday, August 2 at 5 p.m. EDT.

So… what does the winning artist receive?

  • Their winning patch design will be created into a limited-run embroidered patch, which can be purchased by the public to support the South Bend FOP Lodge #36Santa’s Elficers program.

  • Their winning patch design displayed at the South Bend Police Department’s National Night Out Event @ SBPD on Tuesday, August 6.

  • Their winning patch design featured as the profile picture on SBPD’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages for one week.

  • A personal tour of the South Bend Police Department for the child and his/her family

Be creative and have fun! Remember… all drawings must be submitted by Thursday, July 25 at 11:59 pm.
