The owner of Smokin’ Fattys restaurant in Elkhart is asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect he calls the “Bicycling Brisket Bandit.”

On the evening of July 4th and early morning of July 5th an individual entered Smokin’ Fattys BBQ three different times.

On the 3rd visit he went into the smokehouse, removed two 17 pound briskets from the smokers, put them in his backpack, went out the back door and rode off on his bicycle.

The restaurant was closed for the day and the back door was mistakenly not latched securely, according to the owner, Cam Snyder.
