Vital Farms to Build New Egg Washing and Packing Facility in Seymour

Vital Farms, which is based in Austin, Texas and known for its pasture-raised eggs, has announced plans to build an new facility in Seymour.

The company says it plans to operate an egg washing and packing facility on a 72-acre site near Exit 50 of I-65 at U.S. 31.

In a press release, Vital Farms says they plan to create more than 150 jobs in its first phase and expect to help generate over $350 million in additional revenue for the brand as they plan to hit $1 billion in company revenues by 2027.

The company also expects this new facility, which has been called Egg Central Station Seymour (ECSS), will support approximately 165 family farmers in its first phase.

This will be the second egg washing and packing facility for Vital Farms. Their first facility—in Springfield, Missouri—opened in 2017.

Vital Farms says they expect to break ground mid-2025 and be fully operational at the beginning of 2027.
