Police say there’s been an increase in thefts in South Bend recently.

Over the last week alone, 9 reported thefts in the River Park & Edison neighborhoods have been reported, involving items stolen from packages left on porches to vehicles taken from driveways.

On Tuesday, South Bend Police found a motorcycle in the neighborhood.

Additionally, local businesses have started using alternate addresses for shipping to prevent thefts by porch pirates.
