The South Bend Police Department is investigating fights that broke out after a high school graduation at Notre Dame.

It was around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6, when a verbal altercation occurred as families were leaving Washington High School’s ceremony at the Compton Family Ice Arena.

Officers quickly intervened.

However, a second fight erupted outside, escalating to physical altercations. Notre Dame police called for backup from South Bend police, but by the time they arrived, the crowd had cleared.

So far, no arrests have been announced.
