South Bend bagel shop to continue under new name

A longtime South Bend bagel shop appears to be closing, but that does not mean you won’t be able to get your bagels.

Studebagels was opened in 1993 and has seen multiple owners since then before being bought by South Bend Chocolate in 2014.

Now, the well-loved business will continue, but under a different name. Mark Tarner, President of South Bend Chocolate Company, explained that they have bigger plans and a new business model they have developed called South Bend Farms.

It’s going to be at the new South Bend Chocolate Factory in the same complex as the Indiana Dinosaur Museum, and they say they will, of course, bake bagels.

According to Tarner, bagels will still be available at the Chocolate Cafe and at the airport.
