A South Bend man suffered only minor injuries after his car was hit by two trains.

The incident occurred late Thursday night at the Logan Street Norfolk Southern crossing.

The driver told police he was crossing the tracks as the gates were coming down. He almost made it across when a westbound train hit his car.

He then got out of the car just before an eastbound train struck it.

Police remind drivers not to cross train tracks when the lights are flashing or the gates are coming down.
