A new study by The Barnes Firm analyzed all 50 states for their suitability and safety for truck drivers.
The survey suggests Indiana tops the list of states.
Factors considered include the deadly crash numbers, the average annual snowfall, the number of public and private truck parking spaces and the density of them per 100 miles of the National Highway System, and overall road conditions.
Indiana stands out with the second-highest number of truck parking spaces, totaling nearly 14,000, and excellent road conditions at 97%, second only to Alabama.
Smooth highways and moderate snowfall of just over 33 inches also make it a safe choice for truck drivers, the survey states.
