The female staff member, identified as Marissa Meyer, 40 years old of Elkhart, was arrested and booked into the Elkhart County Jail on a preliminary charge of Possession of a Firearm on School Property, a Level 6 Felony. An Elkhart County judicial officer found probable cause for the arrest and set bond at $5,000 (surety only-no 10% cash). This case has been forwarded to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for review of formal criminal charges.

EPD will release the name of the individual arrested if and when a judicial officer finds probable cause for the arrest and sets bail.
