Aspiring entrepreneurs start small businesses every day, but which small business is the most sought-after in your state?

A new analysis revealed the most popular small business to start in Indiana is a cleaning company. In Michigan, it’s an Etsy shop.

The report also asked 800+ self-reporting entrepreneurs about their experience starting a business and building an online presence.

Nationwide, the three most popular businesses to start include clothing brands, Etsy shops, and vending machine businesses.

The majority, 63%, said they wish they started their business sooner.

Top challenges facing aspiring small business owners, according to the survey, are finances, marketing and promotion, and competition.

Roughly 3 in 4 believe good websites are important for business success, and 47% tackled the digital project themselves.
