A 34-year-old man saw his first day in court for allegedly stealing a vehicle in 2022.

Police responded to a call at the Granite Shop in Elkhart where the manager said the company’s Chevrolet 4500 was stolen.

They also reported things missing from other company vehicles.

Michael Burmeister was arrested during a search warrant in October of 2023 with a large amount of stolen property, including the missing company vehicle.

The Goshen News says Burmeister reportedly admitted to taking the vehicle during an interview.

A pretrial conference is set for July 9.
