City of South Bend tops new list of best places to live for low cost of living

The City of South Bend has topped a new list of the best places to live for low cost of living.
The list, from Niche.com, named South Bend the most affordable city in the U.S. to live in.
It quotes a median home value from Zillow listed at $169,000, more than $200,000 below the national average.
The city’s median rent is $935, also lower than the national average of $1,268.
South Bend’s overall cost of living, according to the report, is 18 percent lower than the national average, including groceries, clothing, transportatoin and utilities.
The job market scored a B rating, and an A for the commute. However, South Bend scored a C for weather…and only a D+ for crime and safety.

There are some BEAUTIFUL old classic homes and neighborhoods in South bend Unfortunately it is also the most dangerous large city in Indiana So sad some ruin so much

The rent is low because nobody in their RIGHT mind wants to live there.
