Progress is underway for the redevelopment of the former Concord Mall, now called the Concord Business Park.
The Elkhart Redevelopment Commission met this week to talk about proposals from developers.
WSBT reports Mike Huber, Development Services Director, highlighted the need for parking lot improvements but noted challenges due to not owning the property. Huber proposed a $1.4 million lease offer for the redevelopment area.
Developers aim to finalize a lease agreement by March and start parking lot improvements in late March or early April.
Huber says there is already interest from possible tenants leasing space on the property.
