An Elkhart man will face three years probation and two years on home detention after pleading guilty to burglary and auto theft on Thursday.

Anthony Aker is one of two men charged in the burglary and auto theft. Aker told Judge Michael Christofeno that he messed up and trusted people he should not have trusted, alleging that they had told him to move the cars around and that he did not realize they were stolen.

The burglary happened at Pep Auto Sales in Goshen where five vehicles were taken from the sales lot.

The Goshen News states that four of the five vehicles were located inside one of the Ozinga property’s abandoned buildings and the final vehicle was recovered at Broadmore Estates.

Aker’s partner in crime, Landon Gibson, was sentenced by plea to five years at the Indiana Department of Corrections with two years suspended and two years on reporting probation.
