An Elkhart woman has pleaded guilty to a robbery at the 7-Eleven on Toledo Road.

The cashier at the gas station reportedly told police that 20-year-old Siarra Pontius held up the cashier with a knife before walking behind the counter and removing cash from the register.

The cashier told police that they believed the suspect lived at an apartment complex on Toledo Road.

According to the Goshen News, a witness told police that he had seen a red passenger car leaving at a high rate of speed, flagged officers down at the apartment complex and told them that he saw the same vehicle pulling into the complex as well as saw a woman ‘running for her life’ into an apartment complex.

The vehicle was registered to a man known to be in a relationship with Pontius, and she was detained at the complex. Her sentencing is set for February 22.
