A Dowagiac man is heading to jail.

24-year-old Jessie Stanley Stanford pleaded guilty to possession of meth and was sentenced to a year in jail in Cass County Circuit Court.

It happened in August of last year, when police searched his home and found meth and a weapon.

Leader Publications reports Stanford also violated his probation from a 2021 possession of meth and heroin.

He has a scheduled sentencing in Berrien County next month, for attempted resisting and obstructing police and use of meth.
