Dowagiac man faces prison time for two separate incidents

A Dowagiac man is facing prison time for two separate incidents in Dowagiac.

Both incidents happened in 2023.

Leader Publications reports that the first incident happened on March 24 when police found baggies, a scale and meth residue on a pipe at the Castle Inn on M-51.

On May 2, the suspect was found in possession of ammunition after another man accidentally shot himself.

34-year-old Justin Syx pleaded guilty to possession of meth and possession of ammunition by a felon, receiving concurrent terms of 18 months to 10 years, and 18 months to five years.
