Mishawaka man in jail after allegedly assaulting Lyft driver

A man is in jail after allegedly sexually assaulting his Lyft driver.

It happened on Monday in Mishawaka. Police say the Lyft driver picked up Devlin Bertha from a restaurant on Main Street, but, he decided not to sit in the back seat, instead sitting in the front and attacking her.

ABC 57 news reports that the victim stopped at a gas station and found an officer to ask for help.

When confronted by the officer, Bertha said that the victim was flirting with him, but admitted to kissing her and touching her neck.

After a search, police found a bag of meth. Bertha is charged with sexual battery, battery, and possession of methamphetamine.
