Restaurant building near Cleveland & Grape coming down

(Tommie Lee/MNC)

A site in Mishawaka that has struggled to succeed as a restaurant is being torn down.

You may have noticed that heavy equipment has been demolishing the building on West Cleveland Road near Grape.

The building has been the site of several restaurants over the years, including a Chi-Chi’s for much of the 1980s, and is now being cleared away for a couple of projects. One will be a drive-through storage facility, and the other part of the area — which faces the University Park Mall — will be marketed to a future drive-thru restaurant.
