Two men, ages 18 and 44, injured by gunfire in Middlebury

Two people were injured by gunfire in Middlebury.

It was just before 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, when Elkhart County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 52000 block of Oak Hills Dr. in Middlebury for the report of two people injured by gunfire.

On arrival, police found an 18-year-old man and a 44-year-old man with suspected gunshot wounds. They were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The preliminary investigation determined that this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
