Warsaw man arrested after allegedly fighting with Mishawaka, St. Joseph County police officers

A Warsaw man has been arrested after police say he began fighting with a Mishawaka officer and an off-duty St. Joseph County officer.

It happened Friday afternoon, Dec. 1, at the Menard’s store on Main Street in Mishawaka.

During the fight, 42-year-old Michael Lee Eppenbaugh the suspect was able to take control and drive off in a Mishawaka Police car, leading to a pursuit.

County Police closed in on the stolen vehicle as it fled north on Ironwood Road, eventually crashing at M=60 and Yankee Road, just east of Niles.

The suspect was taken by Cass County Police to the Cass County Jail.

Eppenbaugh was also wanted on multiple warrants in Kosciusko County.
