Police: Shots fired at semi driver on Toll Road in Elkhart County

The Indiana State Police is requesting the public’s help to gather information on a shooting that took place on the Indiana Toll Road in Elkhart County.

It was around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, when state police when the driver of a Freightliner semi called police, believing he was shot at by the driver of passenger vehicle.

State Police say that the two drivers got into a road rage incident near the eastbound 94 mile marker, during which, both vehicles slowed or stopped and the two exchanged words before the semi drove off.

The driver of the passenger car then allegedly caught up to the semi and fired multiple rounds striking the semi as it passed.

The suspect vehicle is described as a gray or darker colored car that possibly has an Indiana temporary license plate.

Anybody who has information or who witnessed this incident, or has dash camera footage is asked to call Indiana State Police Detective O’Keefe at 574-206-2931.
