A jury has convicted a woman of voluntary manslaughter for the shooting death of another woman in downtown South Bend.

Prosecutors say Kimarie Wright shot and killed 32-year-old Kaylynn Davidson in May of 2022 on South Michigan Street.

Davidson was the mother of five-year-old Kyler Jackson who died after being accidentally shot by a 9-year-old relative a few days before she was killed.

Wright, who originally faced murder and voluntary manslaughter charges, will be sentenced in early December.
