Suspect arrested in connection with South Bend hotel double homicide

A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the double homicide in at the Quality Inn hotel near South Bend International Airport.

The shooting happened just before 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, outside of the hotel in the 4100 block of Lincoln Way West.

Upon arrival, officers located two male victims, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victims, Amarion Kirk, 20, and Jasani Taylor, 22, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Through an investigation and processing of evidence by the South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, 26-year-old Reontre Lawrence was identified as a suspect.

On Friday, Lawrence was charged with two counts of Murder for his involvement in the shooting.

The warrant was sealed to allow law enforcement to track and apprehend Lawrence.

Lawrence was arrested, Tuesday, in Indianapolis and is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail with no bond.
