Wanted fugitive taken into custody after pursuit

A fugitive who was wanted by law enforcement was taken into custody after a series of pursuits spanning St. Joseph and Marshall counties.
The initial pursuit began around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, when the individual collided with a Pokagon police vehicle and other parked cars near Four Winds Casino in South Bend.
About three hours later, police encountered the same vehicle and another pursuit began.
The suspect crashed through some fences then led police onto the toll road. The vehicle pursuit ended in the area of US-31 and Kern Road, briefly crossing into Marshall County.
Though the suspect tried to get away on foot, police caught up to him. He was arrested in connection with various felony charges from Michigan and from Florida.
