Community members, leaders, and South Bend Police are uniting to address the recent surge in criminal activity within the Ridgedale Neighborhood.

It’s in response to a series of unsettling events that have unfolded during the past week, including break-ins that happened while families were sleeping and a reported abduction where a young woman was coerced at gunpoint to withdraw money from an ATM.

Surveillance footage obtained from a local business near the GOLO gas station on Miami appears to capture the incident involving the young woman.

After this encounter, the perpetrator and the victim parted ways in the early morning hours, leaving the typically serene and close-knit neighborhood residents feeling uneasy in the wake of these recent events.

Police are urging anybody with any information is asked to call Michiana Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP or 800-342-STOP or submit an anonymous tip online at www.p3tips.com/203.  or go to their website or Facebook page, just click the link the “Use App” or “Submit a Tip” buttons.
