18-year-old found guilty of killing two people at Laurel Woods Apartments

It’s a guilty verdict against an 18-year-old man accused of killing two people.

Prosecutors say Rease Pence took the lives of 28-year-old Jamie Binns and 29-year-old Samantha Lawson of Niles.

Their shooting deaths tock place at Laurel Woods Apartments in June of last year.

The victims were found dead, from gunshot wounds in a car in the complex parking lot.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video taken of the killings, and reviewed the victims’ phones.

According to court documents, Pence’s iCloud revealed he had shut off his location services before the killings. It also revealed an internet search related to whether latex gloves leave fingerprints.

The document also stated that police talked to witnesses who say Pence was present during the shooting. One of them said Pence admitted to the killings.

Pence was also found guilty of Firearm Enhancement. He’ll be sentenced in mid-November.
