Enhanced reward offered after four people were shot in South Bend

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)
Investigators say people scattered when “hundreds of rounds” were fired by someone as many people attending a Mexican Independence Day celebration. The shots were first reported around 10:30 Saturday evening.
The shooting was the culmination of a weekend of violence in South Bend as police were called to four other shootings between Friday and Saturday nights.
“36 years of doing this, it still makes no sense to me,” South Bend Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski said. “The complete disrespect for one another, human lives. We had multiple properties shot up, multiple vehicles shot up. In essence, bullets flying through houses and neighborhoods. Four people shot on top of that.”
All four people shot are alive at the hospital.
Surveillance video recorded people fleeing for cover as the shots were fired. Police are asking for anyone else with any security camera footage to come forward as they try to find the shooter.
From retaliation concerns to fears of being labeled a snitch, there are several reasons witnesses may be apprehensive to share information with police after a shooting or any other major crime in our city.
Michiana Crime Stoppers has implemented a Victory Over Violence Pilot Program, which rewards up to $1,000 for tips leading to the solving of a felony crime committed with a firearm, such as last night’s shooting on the city’s west side.
Anonymous tips can be shared with Michiana Crime Stoppers by calling 574-288-STOP or visiting p3tips.com/203. Michiana Crime Stoppers does not have caller ID or IP address tracking – your information is completely anonymous and cannot be traced back to you. You can also share photos and videos through p3tips.com/203 or the P3 smartphone app.

Hundreds of rounds fired, four hit, no one killed…no need to look for a former military member even if they fit the “domestic terrorist” regime du jour.

This is what you can expect from cities ruled by Democrats; no respect for the law, no fear of prosecution.

Mr. KRIEGEL, What a great observation and true. People don’t want to go there after dark.

People need to obey the law of Moses. This isn’t taught by parents to their children anymore. We are witnessing the consequences.
