With an eye on stopping tragedies on the tracks, this week is Rail Safety Week across the U.S. and beyond.

Operation Lifesaver is sharing rail safety messages all this week, in hopes of saving lives across the country and discouraging unsafe behavior around tracks and trains. Around 2,100 North Americans were killed or seriously injured along the tracks in 2022.

Indiana Operation Lifesaver is joining the Mexican Association of Railroads, Operation Lifesaver Canada, and Operation Lifesaver Incorporated in the U.S.

Governor Holcomb has signed a proclamation observing the effort. Indiana experiences around 120 collisions along the tracks each year, with multiple injuries and deaths.
